Urgent advice: Global IT outage

Important Information:

If you have an appointment booked in the Enhanced Access Service tonight 19/07/24 & Sat 20/07/24 at Bunbury, please be aware that due to the ongoing global IT outage, unfortunately these clinics have had to be cancelled.

The PCN Hub is not able to access patient records, appointment lists or prescribe and therefore feel they cannot operate safely.

Please contact us after normal service resumes to re-book an appointment. If you have an urgent problem that can’t wait please contact 111.

We regret to inform you that due to a global IT outage affecting clinical systems, many medical practices, including ours, are currently experiencing disruptions. This incident has impacted various administrative and clinical functions. This is beyond the control of GP surgeries. Please bear with us until we have our IT systems back online.

Impact on services:

  • Appointments: there may be delays in scheduling and processing appointments - we can only accept emergency contacts today.
  • Prescriptions: processing and issuing repeat prescriptions might take longer than usual as we have no access to electronic prescribing.
  • Communications: our online patient portals are experiencing intermittent issues. We are unable to process online queries at this time.
  • We are unable to process online queries at this time,access patient records or make referrals.

There is currently no known impact on 999 or emergency services.

Patients should attend appointments unless told otherwise. Only contact your GP if it’s urgent, Please limit contact with the practice to essential services only. Otherwise please use 111 online or call 111.

We are working closely with our IT partners and healthcare authorities to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.
