We have an exciting opportunity available for the right person or people to join our Senior Management team. Candidates might be an experienced Practice Manager, someone who is currently working as an Assistant PM and wants to take the next step up or someone working outside the NHS who has the relevant management and operational skills. We are open to splitting the role if we find two people with skills that complement one another.
The successful person/people will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, to lead and inspire our friendly, patient focussed team, and to support the GP Partners in developing and evolving the Practice to provide continuing, excellent patient care.
We are a longstanding training practice serving the lovely village of Tarporley in Cheshire and its surrounding environs. We have a list size of 6200 patients, served by 2 partners and 3 salaried GPs with supportive nursing and pharmacy teams and dedicated reception and administration teams. Our core ethos is to provide high quality, accessible Primary Care services for all our patients, designing care around their needs, whilst adapting to the ever-changing challenges and demands of Primary Care and the NHS.
The role(s) will be pivotal in the management of the practice and require someone who is forward thinking and able to lead & support the practice team to achieve its aims and objectives with total professionalism.
The role(s) will be supported by managers in Operations, Reception and Facilities. We have a good CQC rating, consistently excellent QOF achievement and a very high level of patient satisfaction in the national GP survey. The successful candidate(s) will either be competent in all aspects of core practice management or will be willing to learn and able to demonstrate proven relevant business experience.
You must be able to demonstrate attention to detail and excellent communication skills. You will be supportive to staff and have full responsibility for their wellbeing. You will be forward thinking, with the skills to develop the practice management role and not be afraid to support, advise and lead partners in their decision making.
You will preferably have financial acumen and be able to demonstrate an ability to cost and forecast and to fully understand the financial flows of income and expenditure. If you do not have all these skills and are willing to learn, support can be provided to allow you to increase your knowledge and skills in this area.
Previous management experience is essential, previous practice management experience is desirable. Our retiring practice manager will be available to support you for an agreed handover period.
You are welcome to ask for a copy of the job description, but the final JD will be personalised for the successful candidate(s), depending on their development needs.
An initial informal visit or discussion is also welcome-please contact Lynn Suckley by email at lynn.suckley@nhs.net to arrange.
If you have these qualities and the genuine willingness and drive to run this patient focused practice, with development support where needed, we would be delighted to hear from you.
To apply please send your CV and 300 words saying why you are suitable for the post and what makes the role attractive to you, to lynn.suckley@nhs.net. The short list for 1st interviews will be judged on the 300 words.
